Meet Our Veterinarians
Dr. Mary St. Amand, DVM
Dr. Mary St. Amand, or Dr. Mary as she is commonly known, is the owner of Hope Veterinary Care. Dr. Mary established Hope Veterinary Care in 1987 and dedicated her work in honor of her parents. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island, and then went on to earn her veterinary medical degree from Purdue University. Dr. Mary enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling. Her pets include a two rescued dogs and four rescued cats.
Dr. Sharon Chang, DVM
Dr. Sharon Chang joined our practice in 2012, and we are very happy to have her! She graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Although not a Rhode Island native, she enjoys living in Rhode Island. She shares her home with her husband, son, two dogs (a Chihuahua and a Newfoundland ), and three cats.
Dr. Nancy Field, VMD
Dr. Nancy Field joined the Hope Veterinary Care team in July 2019. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2009 and her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013. Upon graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Field completed an intensive one-year internship at a specialty hospital located outside of Philadelphia. Since then, she has been working in a multi-doctor small animal practice in the North Shore Boston area until recently
moving to Rhode Island with her family. Dr. Field is at Hope Veterinary Care providing surgical, dental, and medical needs to all clients. In her free time, she likes to plan adventures exploring her new state with her family, including, her husband, daughter, 2 dogs (a Vizsla and a Shorkie), and 2 cats.
